I read a study about the WTS-Growth
by JWdaughter inand it said that based on their growth and such, that in 20 years(or by 2020) there would be 28 million jws.
any sign of imminent, widespread persecution that you all have noticed?
i keep hearing about kh's being built and remodeled, and how huge their conventions are.

Interesting post from 5 years ago...
But if any 19th century "dooms-day" religion will reach the 20,000,000 member mark by the year 2020, it will be the 7th Day Adventists (which now has a membership of about 14,500,000)...
In 2020, I see the JWs completely rebranded with a membership totalling less than 6,000,000... just my opinion...

Another mall shooting - how soon until the question becomes ...
by Simon in... not "why does this happen" or even "how do we prevent it" but "here's todays locations and body counts".. so sad that some people just went to the shops and now their families will never see them again.. seems like it is an insolveable problem for america..

It is quite a problem... but not a new one... mall shootings, school shootings and the like have plagued America since the late 70's... but cell phones, social media and high-tech police frequency scanners are making the problem appear more wide-spread than it actually is...
that said, it's still a very sad situation.

Elder and CO just dropped by....
by El_Guapo ini haven't been to a meeting in over a year, and as you know as soon as you stop attending meetings/fieldservice the "conditional" love becomes more apperant.
the coordinating elder starts off by saying how much he loves and misses me, etc.
i ask him, when was the last time you called or texted me?

Most Ridiculous Thing You've Ever Been Counseled On
by MrFreeze ini'm sure topics like this have already come up but they tend to get hilarious with the absolute absurdity that goes on in the kh.
i was once counseled for not shaving after two days.
i was also counseled by a sister for eating lucky charms cereal.

I was counselled for assuming the role of a valet parking attendant before and after a memorial.
I was supposed to help direct traffic into (and then out of) the KH parking lot during a memorial with almost double the amount of cars expected. But when I noticed that certain elderly brothers and sisters had difficulty manuevering into (or out of) very tight spaces, I quickly intervened and parked their vehicles for them or positioned their cars so that they can simply drive straight ahead and out the lot at the end of the memorial. This only took a few seconds at a time and did not affect my primary duty as "traffic director". If fact, had I not done this, there would have been complete gridlock and the next memorial would have started late.
The next service meeting, an elder pulled me aside and said that I should strive to follow directions from the elders and that he was told that I was "doing unauthorized things on my own" during the memorial when i was supposed to be simply directing traffic.
Can you believe the audacity of this complete shit head???

Two circuits in Ohio dissolved!
by kneehighmiah inannounced that two ohio circuits are to be dissolved including 5 congregations.
congregations in the dissolved circuits will be assigned to two existing circuits.
the excuse the letter offered is that people are moving, or that people are retiring and leaving the area.

Dear brothers... because many of you have lost your jobs and are unable to contribute to the upkeep of your Kingdom Hall, we are herebey notifying you that you have 30 days to find a well-paying job or find a Kingdom Hall where the friends are wealthy and are able to make up for your shortcomings.
